Our Story
About a decade ago, Bonnie began a journey to provide beautiful irises to her family and friends. What started as a few rhizomes shared over the back fence grew into something extraordinary β a passion that fills her days, her garden, and now gardens across the country.
From our family farm in Ohio, we grow over 600 varieties of irises β from towering Tall Bearded showstoppers to delicate Japanese ensatas perfect for water gardens. Every single rhizome is grown right here, dug by hand, and shipped bareroot with foliage and roots attached so it arrives ready to thrive.
We're not a warehouse or a middleman. We're gardeners who fell in love with irises and want to share that love with you. And because we believe in generosity, we always include bonus rhizomes at an average rate of 1 for every 5 you purchase β Bonnie's choice!
Irises are remarkably hardy perennials. Most bearded irises thrive in USDA zones 3-9, making them perfect for gardens across most of the United States. They love full sun (at least 6 hours daily) and well-draining soil.
Plant in late summer or early fall. Dig a hole, create a small mound in the center, and set the rhizome on top with roots spread down. The top of the rhizome should be visible at the soil surface. Space 12-18 inches apart. Water well and let nature do the rest!
